Netball Victoria program, Rock Up Netball has been named as a finalist for promoting health through physical activity and sport at the VicHealth Awards.
Now in its third year, Rock Up Netball is a program tailored to meet the different fitness and skill levels of women aged 15 and over.
Rock Up Netball was developed in conjunction with VicHealth offering flexible playing options in an inclusive and judgement-free environment. The program aims to include those who are not currently participating in sport or physical activity.
Rock Up Netball consists of three platforms – Train, Play Festivals and Social Competitions. The Train element incorporates the basic skills of playing netball, whilst Play Festivals and Social Competitions give participants an opportunity to play a one-off netball competition, or a regular weekly competition.
Now reaching far and wide across the state, from Warrnambool Netball Association to Yarram and up north to Swan Hill, Rock Up Netball has encouraged and empowered women to get involved and meet new people.
The winners of the VicHealth Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on 5 December 2018.
